Ladakh’s artisanal heritage featured at Grameen Bharat Mahotsav, says CEC Leh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Grameen Bharat Mahotsav 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on January 4, marking the commencement of an event dedicated to celebrating the progress of rural India.

With the theme ‘Building a Resilient Rural India for a Viksit Bharat 2047,’ the Mahotsav aims to promote rural infrastructure development, foster innovation, and support women entrepreneurs across India.

Running from January 4 to 9, the event features a wide array of cultural performances and exhibitions that showcase India’s rich and diverse heritage. In his inaugural address, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the significance of rural prosperity in achieving the vision of a developed India by 2047.

CEC, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson, commended the Mahotsav for its role in promoting Ladakh’s artistic heritage. He praised the platform for highlighting Ladakh’s unique crafts, such as Shingskhos and pashmina products, and for supporting local artisans while bolstering rural economies.

The Mahotsav serves as a vital platform for empowering rural artisans and entrepreneurs, offering workshops, discussions, and networking opportunities to promote sustainable growth.
