Suryadatta Education Foundation (SEF) has conferred Suryadatta National Integration Award 2019 to Jamyang Tsering Namgyal during his first visit to Pune on October 11 for his significant contribution in nation-building through series of initiatives he has taken inside and outside Ladakh. 

Suryadatta Awards are conferred on 7th February every year on the occasion of Suryadatta Foundation Day. 

On this occasion, stalwarts from different fields, who have contributed/rendered their selfless services in the respective fields for the growth of the nation/enrichment of the society, are felicitated. 

The Suryadatta National Integration Awards are given to towering personalities from all walks of life, whose significant contributions towards the enrichment of their chosen vocation have made a difference to the society, transforming all those lives that they have touched and leaving their footprints on the sands of time. 

Dnyaneshwar Mulay, former Secretary of Ministry of External Affairs, Govind Namdev, well-known film actor, Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil, Social workers are among the few awardees who have received this award earlier.

Jamyang speech in the Lok Sabha won him praise from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and other lawmakers. 

He joined BJP and served as Office Secretary for BJP Leh unit, then Private Secretary to the Member of Parliament from Ladakh Thupstan Chhewang in 16th Lok Sabha.

He contested election to the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh in 2015 from Martselang Constituency and won by a record margin. 

Later, he was elected as the Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor to the Hill Council, Leh. In 2019, Namgyal contested the 16th Lok Sabha elections from the largest Ladakh constituency, comprising Leh and Kargil districts.
