Ladakh Action Committee holds rally for restoration of reservation in promotion

The Ladakh Region Action Committee for Protection of Reservation (LRACPR) held a protest rally here on Febraury 13 against the unrelenting silence of the State Government over the J&K High Court’s verdict on reservation in promotions.
This pro reservation rally was led by Sheikh Abdullah Jalili, chairman of LRACPR, Kargil and Tsewang Thinless, chairman, LRACPR, Leh whileas the Jammu based pro reservation organizations like Jammu Kashmir Reserve Categories Employees Association (JKRCEA), Jammu Kashmir Tribal United Forum (JKTUF), All India Bhagat Mahasabha, J&K Shri Guru Ravidass Sabha, J&K Mahasha Sadar Sabha, Kabir Sabha, Backward Classes Union, Dalit Chetna Manch, SC/ST Lawyers Forum, SC/ST Students Union, Tribal Welfare Forum Kashmir and All J&K Pensioners Association joined and supported them over this issue.
They assembled near the Press Club Jammu and marched towards Indira Chowk from where the leaders of LRACPR went to Raj Bhawan and submitted memorandum to the Governor.
Nawang Rigzin Jora, Asgar Karbali, (MLAs), Sheikh Saf-Uddin, Ashraf Ali Barcha, Kacho Gulzar Hussain, Shaikh Sadiq Rajai, Mohd Mukhtar Khan, Ahmed Hussain (leaders of LRACPR), Dr Sanjay Bhasin, president JKRCEA, Dr Zabeer Ahmed, general secretary, JKRCEA, Tashi, chairman, EJAC, Ladakh, Bodh Raj Bhagat, Roshan Din Choudhary, Sham Lal Basson, Arif Irfan and Satish Vidrohi, were among those who addressed the rally. They pledged to fight for restoration of reservation in promotion and announced to continue the struggle to a logical conclusion.
Nawang Rigzin Jora castigated the Government for not contesting in favour of their own law which is in consonance with Article 370, 35-A of Indian Constitution & Article 6 of J&K Constitution. “The present Government has shown its in-efficiency in legally dealing with the issues of public importance,” he said.
He requested the Governor to immediately come up with political solution of Restoration of Reservation in Promotion in the best interests of Reserved categories. He sought immediate solution to the problem and warned that in the vent of failure, the situation may turn out of control that may damage the democratic structure of this State.
