L-G Mathur lays foundation stone of Eklavya Model Residential School in Sankoo
Foundation stone of Eklavya Model Residential School in Sankoo village was laid by Lieutenant Governor R K Mathur on October 31 virtually.
The residential school will be built at an approximate estimated cost of ₹25 crore in Phase-I by National Projects Construction Corporation Limited (A Govt.of India Enterprises under Ministry of Jal Shakti).
Pankaj Kumar, Zonal Manager Northern Zone Jammu; R K Meena, Project Manager, and Stanzin Serzang, Project Engineer were present at the site from NPCC Ltd along with representatives from various Govt. dept and local important person of the village.
The opening of the Eklavya Model Residential School at Sankoo will give an impetus to the strengthening of school education in the Kargil region. It is one of the flagship initiations of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India to ensure tribal students get to access quality education in the remote tribal area of the country.
