L-G attends special screening of 100th episode of Mann ki Baat
Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) participated in the special screening of the 100th episode of Mann ki Baat, the monthly radio address by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on April 30.
He also inaugurated the photo exhibition on the 100th episode of Mann ki Baat highlighting the topics the Prime Minister discussed in his monthly radio address.
Addressing the gathering, LG informed about the various Apex leadership of the country witnessed by him over the years since India’s independence. Praising the Apex leadership of Narendra Modi, he stated that the fate of India changed on 26th May 2014 when Narendra Modi assumed the charge of Prime Minister of the country. He praised Narendra Modi’s leadership and all the life-changing schemes implemented by him over the years such as Jal Jeevan Mission, Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana or Saubhagya, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, etc, for the benefit of millions of people of India.
Praising Narendra Modi’s large-heartedness and magnanimity, LG informed that he has listened to all the episodes of Mann ki Baat. He also informed that the uniqueness of the radio programme is that Narendra Modi touches upon all the topics and subjects that concern the everyday life of the common man. He gave credit to Narendra Modi for ensuring that India puts the best foot forward in the ongoing G-20 India Summit by showcasing India’s progression as a developed nation.
He thanked everyone present for the special screening of the 100th episode of Mann ki Baat and wished them luck in their future endeavors.
Earlier, Padma Shri awardee His Eminence Thiksey Rinpoche emphasized the need for the people of Ladakh to come together and make collective efforts to make Ladakh a developed UT. His Eminence stated that Ladakh is on the path of development after becoming a Union Territory. He sought cooperation and support from the people of Ladakh to achieve the dreams of a developed Ladakh.
Urgen Phuntsog, a progressive farmer from Gya village, whose name was mentioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in one of the episodes of Mann ki Baat, expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for mentioning his name in his monthly radio programme. This gesture, he said, has motivated and encouraged farmers like him involved in sustainable farming practices to do better work. He informed about his engagement in agricultural practices for more than two decades and the successful farming of around 30 different types of crops done by him on his field.
Urgyen thanked all the people who helped and encouraged him during his journey as a progressive farmer despite the numerous challenges faced by him due to the harsh climatic conditions of Ladakh.
