A total of 25 farmers from Nubra valley visited KVK/HMAARI, SKUAST-K Leh, CAZRI RRS, Leh DIHAR and Agriculture Department Leh for an exposure tour from September 16 to 18.

The field exposure visit was organised by Kishi Vigyan Kendra SKUAST-K Leh and sponsored by NABARD.

Dr. Dorjay Namgyal, Programme Coordinator, KVK Leh, stressed the need to adopt farming technologies to make farming less cumbersome and remunerative. The farmers were shown different technologies to boost the overall agriculture production and exotic vegetables being grown at these stations.

Dr.Vikas Gupta, Scientist, KVK Leh delivered a detailed power point presentation on mushroom cultivation from sowing to harvesting. 

He stressed on its cultivation in Leh as the temperature is quite congenial for mushroom production. Training on vegetable production and vermicomposting was also imparted.

An interaction session was also held between the expert team of KVK Leh and farmers.
