KVK Leh, SKUAST-K imparts training for dairy farming development

A total of 20 trainees completed one-month long skill development training programme on “Dairy Farmer/ entrepreneur” on March 28 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, SKUAST-K, Leh.
The training programme was conducted under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) through Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI) from February 27 to March 28.
The training was imparted free of cost including boarding and lodging charges.
Theory and practicals on the dairy farmer/entrepreneur curriculum approved by Agriculture Skill Council of India were imparted.
The aim was to line up the trainees to be able to efficiently start and manage a dairy farm, construct and maintain shed for cattle, prepare and give recommended feed and water for livestock, maintaining proper health of livestock, preparation and storage of feed and fodder, maintaining health and safety at the workplace and marketing of milk and dairy products.
The certified trainer of the programme was Dr. Nazir Ahmad Mir, Subject Matter Specialist (Animal Science), KVK, Leh.
