Kargil orphanage children participate in 'Clean India, Green India' drawing competition
The District Child Protection Unit, Kargil, organized an awareness program combined with a drawing competition on the theme "Clean India, Green India" at Az-Zahra Orphanage, Kargil on October 10, under the Mission Vatsalya Scheme.
The Chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee, Kargil, addressed issues related to child rights, highlighting concerns under the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection) Act, 2015. The chairperson stressed the importance of protecting children's rights and promoting a clean and green environment for their overall well-being.
The Protection Officer of Non-Institutional Care from the District Child Protection Unit underscored the significance of child protection, care, and development. Additionally, a supervisor from the District Drugs De-addiction Centre, Kargil, highlighted the dangers of drug abuse and its impact on young lives.
The Legal cum Probation Officer from the District Child Protection Unit discussed children's legal rights under the Constitution and within the Mission Vatsalya framework.
Children from Az-Zahra Orphanage actively participated in the event by creating drawings and paintings on the theme "Clean India, Green India," showcasing their creativity and understanding of environmental issues.
The program was attended by staff from the Child Welfare Committee, District Child Protection Unit, Child Helpline, District Drugs De-addiction Centre, and the Az-Zahra Orphanage. The event aimed to raise awareness about child rights, promote healthy habits, and encourage children's creativity.
