Kargil CJM finds man guilty in 2016 road accident case
The Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kargil, Ladakh presided over by Fariqa Nazir on October 13 convicted a man Manzoor Ahmad Dar in a road accident case in 2016.
After hearing the Public Prosecutor Tsering Phuntsog and defense counsel, the court said that the accused had been found guilty.
The accused has been sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of one year for a commission of offense U/S 304-A RPC. The accused is also sentenced to payment of a fine to the tune of Rs 30,000 U/S 304-A which shall be paid to the family of the deceased.
The accused is further sentenced to undergo imprisonment for a period of one month for the commission of offense U/S 279 and 337 RPC. Both the sentences shall run concurrently. The accused is also sentenced to the payment of a fine to the tune of Rs 1000/- for the commission of offences under sections 39/192, 56/196, 146/196 MV Act.
