Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul inaugrates legal aid clinic at Tangtse
Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Judge, Supreme Court of India and Executive Chairman NALSA inaugurated the Legal Aid Clinic at Tangtse on September 29.
The programme was organised by the District Legal Services Authority, Leh under the aegis of Ladakh Legal Services Authority.
Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul highlighted the importance of accessibility to justice for all citizens irrespective of economic status, gender, and place of residence such as far-flung places and stated that legal aid clinics shall play an important role of a medium/bridge for deprived people to reach to the doors of courts and attain justice free of cost.
He also reiterated that PLVs working on the ground level and manning the legal aid clinics throughout the nation are the real foot soldiers that help the deprived people to resolve disputes as very often they are the first people to come in contact with the aggrieved.
He also encouraged all the villagers to send their children to school without discriminating against the gender of the children as the Right to education is also one of the basic rights that enable children to empower themselves to fulfill their goals and become an asset to society. In the end, Justice appealed to the villagers to empower themselves with the knowledge of the Rights and schemes so that villagers may benefit from them.
