Justice Bhat convenes meeting on reservation policy for ALC
Justice Bansi Lal Bhat, Chairman of the Reservation Commission for Actual Line of Control (ALC), Ladakh, convened a significant meeting with Chairman/CEC Adv. Tashi Gyalson on August 8 in the Conference Hall of the Council Secretariat.
Accompanied by Additional Secretary Tsering Motup, Justice Bhat provided an update on the status and progress of the committee’s efforts to formulate a reservation policy for residents living adjacent to the Actual Line of Control.
Justice Bhat emphasized the committee’s commitment to inclusive development and alleviating the hardships faced by residents in border areas. The primary aim of the meeting was to inform stakeholders about the committee’s work and to gather suggestions and objections from all concerned parties.
He stressed the importance of establishing clear criteria to ensure that reservations benefit the intended recipients and exclude ineligible individuals.
During the meeting, CEC Gyalson, along with Executive Councillors and Councillors, presented their submissions and feedback to Justice Bhat.
Attendees included Dy. Chairman Tsering Angchuk; Executive Councillor for RDD Tashi Namgyal Yakzee; Executive Councillor for Minority Ghulam Mehdi; and Councillors from border areas, including Ishey Spalzang (Nyoma), Karma Namdak (Korzok), Konchok Stanzin (Chushul), Thinles Nurboo (Kungyam), Tsering Sangdup (Panamik), Lhundup Dorjey (Skurbuchan), and other concerned officials.
