Janta curfew observed; traditional Ladakhi music played lauding front-line workers

Roads and streets of the Leh district wore a deserted look and hardly any vehicles were seen on the road on March 22, as the Prime Minister had made an appeal for ‘Janta curfew’ due to COVID-19. 

Moses Kunzang, Additional District Development Commissioner Leh stated that entire district observed ‘Janta curfew’ by staying indoors.
 
"At 5 pm, in addition to clapping, siren and bell, traditional Ladakhi music was played at different places to express gratitude to the front-line people, employees and organizations for their tremendous contribution during this hour of emergency", he added. 
 
He further said, "On behalf of the district administration, I extend appreciation to all the people for their cooperation."   
 
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called for the 'Janata curfew' from 7 am to 9 pm on March 22, appealing no citizen, barring those in essential services, should get out of their houses. PM Modi had asserted that it will be our test to show India's readiness to take on the coronavirus challenge.
