Celebrating the resilience & leadership of the local youth, a tree plantation drive was undertaken by the school children of Ladakh & Indian Army on August 12.

The plantation drive was carried out on 24^th International Youth Day with an aim to create a better world for all. The theme for this year was ‘Green Skills for Youth: Towards A Sustainable World’.

The drive was aimed to involve the local youth in bringing a positive transformation towards solving global problems. The young generation was also informed about the need for a sustainable world through use of green skills. The initiative sought to impart knowledge, abilities, values, and attitudes needed to live in, develop and support a sustainable and resource - efficient society.

Army authorities encouraged the local youth to contribute towards a sustainable world by employing green techniques for which the Indian Army, civil administration and society have joined hands to create a conducive atmosphere.
