Indian Army's D5 motorcycle expedition concludes at Kargil war memorial

To commemorate 25 years of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Indian Army's D5 Motorcycle Expedition began its journey on June 12, 2024, from Dinjan (Assam), Dwarka (Gujarat), and Dhanushkodi (Tamil Nadu). The expedition teams honored War Heroes and Veer Naris while traversing diverse and challenging terrains on their way to the Kargil War Memorial in Dras. Seven riders from Northern Command also joined the expedition en route.

The journey culminated on July 10, 2024, at the Kargil War Memorial, Dras. The flagging-in ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General M V Suchindra Kumar, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Northern Command, and Lieutenant General Adosh Kumar, AVSM, SM, Director General Artillery, along with other senior military officers. They interacted with war veterans, Veer Naris, and the expedition members.

The D5 Motorcycle Expedition was not merely a ride but a homage to the valor and sacrifice of the soldiers who defended the nation during the Kargil War. This expedition commemorated the sacrifices of brave soldiers and symbolized the spirit of unity and resilience of the Indian Army.
