Hill Council, Leh celebrates 71st Constitution day
Promoting the constitution value among the citizen, Hill Council, Leh celebrated Constitution Day also known as “Samvidhan Divas” on November 26 at Council Secretariat.
CEC, Hill Council, Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson said that the aim of celebrating this day is to make the citizens aware of the constitution of India and its rights and benefits.
He highlighted the contribution of Father of the Constitution of India, Bharat Ratna, Dr. B.R Ambedkar who was the chairman of the Indian Constitution Drafting Committee, and also about the Constitution of India which was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on 26th November 1949.
He said that the Constitution of India gives rights to every citizen of India irrespective of race, place of birth, religion, caste, creed, or gender and emphasized adhering to one’s fundamental duties equally as seeking fundamental rights.
The Council members and staff of Council Secretariat took pledge by reciting the Preamble of the Indian Constitution.
Executive Councillor for Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee; Executive Councillor for Minority and Forest, Ghulam Mehdi; Executive Councillor for Agriculture, Stanzin Chosphel; Councillors and staffs of Council Secretariat were present.
