Extending support to the Muslim girl students in Karnataka amid the Hijab row, the Women Association of Saliskote organised a peace rally on February 28 at Hussainiya Al-Zahra Saliskote, Kargil.

The women raised placards and chanted slogans during the pro hijab protest.

Mubarika Banoo on behalf of the women's organization of Saliskote appealed Government of India to allow hijab as it is a religious obligation and fundamental right under Article 25 of the Indian constitution. 

“We will never tolerate a ban on hijab and Karnataka government should take back this decision”, she added.

The protestors said that wearing hijab is their right and identity and it should not be taken away from them.
