Hajj Pilgrims undergo screening, vaccination drive at Sankoo
A screening and vaccination drive for selected Hajj pilgrims from Sankoo Sub-Division of Kargil was successfully conducted at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Sankoo on March 25.
The vaccination drive was organised as a precautionary measure to protect pilgrims from contagious diseases during the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
The programme was attended by Block Medical Officer, Sankoo, Dr. Zahida Khatun; Consultant Pediatrician, Dr. Iftikhar Hussain Koree; and Physician, Dr. Syed Iftikhar Hussain, along with healthcare staff of CHC Sankoo.
During the drive, medical screening of the pilgrims was carried out by Dr. Iftikhar Hussain Koree and Dr. Syed Iftikhar Hussain to assess their fitness for the journey.
A total of 34 pilgrims were vaccinated, marking an important step towards ensuring their health and safety ahead of the sacred pilgrimage.
The pilgrims expressed gratitude for the well-organised arrangements and appreciated the efforts of the Block Medical Officer and the medical team.
Dr. Zahida Khatun congratulated all selected pilgrims and extended her best wishes for a safe, comfortable, and spiritually fulfilling journey. She also welcomed the pilgrims and presented traditional khataq as a gesture of goodwill.
Later, Chairperson of the Hajj Committee, UT Ladakh, Haji Mohammad Ali Majaz, also visited the centre.
