Gyal P Wangyal, CEC, Hill Council, Leh convened a meeting with the Chief Engineers of Northern Railway regarding the ongoing survey of Bilaspur-Manali-Leh Rail Line on August 26 at Council Secretariat.

Construction and Survey Northern Railway, Harpal Singh; Chief Engineer East Central Railway, Alok Kumar along with Deputy Chief Engineer Northern Railway were present.

Gyal P Wangyal welcomed the engineers and said that laying of a railway line for Ladakh will be historic for Ladakhi people. He hoped that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the dream of this lifeline shall become reality within the shortest possible time. 

Till the Bilaspur-Leh railway line is completed, he urged the Chief Engineer to initiate works on an internal railway circuit within Leh connecting Upshi to Phey along the Indus River.
