Gun owners asked to get their Arms License details for digitisation at the earliest

Moses Kunzang, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Leh has issued a notice on February 1 for the Arms License holders.
The notice says all the Arms License holders who have got their license issued from Licensing authority, Leh (District Magistrate Leh) have to give the details of their arms licenses to be digitalized into a central software namely National Database of Arms License (NDAL).
This is as per the direction of Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. After digitization of the licenses, a unique identification number (UID ) will be allocated.
Therefore, all the License holder shall immediately approach Judicial Section of Deputy commissioner office, Leh to get their Arms License particulars digitized online on MHA website and for uploading of data in NDAL by or before March 31, 2018.
The license holders shall deposit their license and collect their License from the same place after a week time. This time frame would be required for verification of official record and updated details online.
The license holder, whose license has been issued by other licensing authority and being renewed by DC Office Leh, are also informed to immediately approach District Magistrate office, Leh for getting their license details entered online.
After expiry of the schedule date license issued and renewed by licensing authority, Leh shall not be digitized on MHA website.
In case the Arm license is not uploaded as per the procedure mentioned above then the said Arm license shall be considered invalid with effect from March 31 in terms of Rule 15 (2) of the Arms Rules, 2016 notified on July 15, 2016.
