55 students including teaching staff of Govt High school, Taikat, Barsoo Block visited cultural and heritage sites of Barsoo and Suru valley in Kargil as a part of the school exposure tour on June 23.

Students visited Styankong, the well-known tomb of the first Islamic preacher of Suru Karchay Akhoon, Mohammad Sharief. Students learned about various contributions of Akhone Sharief in teaching and spreading Islamic values. 

The heritage tour motivated the students to learn, review and appreciate the existence of these heritage sites and to understand the significance to reserve them. 

They also visited the grave of Rgyal Khatoon, Karchay Khar Chamba, palaces including Karchey khar and Karpokhar, the tomb of Syed Mir Hashim. They also visited Damsna fish farm in the end
