Students of Government Degree College (GDC) Zanskar were flagged off for a seven-day exposure tour to the Kashmir Valley on September 22, aimed at providing them with experiential learning and broader academic and cultural exposure.

The tour is being organised under the overall supervision and guidance of Principal, GDC Zanskar, Dr Amjad Ali Abbasi. The flagging-off ceremony was held at the college campus and conducted by Incharge Principal Dr Mohd Hussain in the presence of faculty members, administrative staff and students.

During the tour, the students will visit various prominent academic institutions, historical and heritage sites, research centres and ecological locations across Kashmir. The exposure visit is intended to provide students with firsthand knowledge of the region’s cultural heritage, academic and scientific developments, and natural biodiversity.

Addressing the gathering, Incharge Principal Dr Mohd Hussain highlighted the importance of educational tours and field visits in enhancing students’ practical understanding and complementing classroom-based learning. He urged the students to maintain discipline, actively participate in the activities and make the most of the learning opportunities during the tour.

Principal Dr Amjad Ali Abbasi conveyed his best wishes to the touring students and reiterated the college’s commitment to providing holistic learning opportunities and wider exposure to students, particularly those from remote regions.

Faculty members accompanying the delegation appreciated the college administration for facilitating the exposure tour and assured that all necessary arrangements had been made for the safe and smooth conduct of the visit.
