GDC Khaltse organizses admission drive across feeder schools in Sham region
In an effort to boost student enrollment, Government Degree College (GDC) Khaltse conducted a series of admission drives in various feeder schools across the Sham region.
On December 7, a team of Assistant Professors visited Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Temisgang, engaging with over 20 Class 12 students. The team provided a comprehensive overview of the college’s facilities and the range of academic programs available.
On December 9, around 50 Class 12 students from GHSS Khaltse were welcomed to the college campus. Assistant Professor Deachen Angmo extended a warm welcome, followed by an informative presentation delivered by Sonam Yangdol and Mepham Dolker, third-semester students at GDC Khaltse. The presentation highlighted academic programs, campus infrastructure, and student life.
The session included a lively Q&A segment, where students raised queries about courses, campus life, and other concerns, which were addressed by the faculty members.
Following the session, students toured the college facilities, including the library, Girls’ Hostel, and Sports Room, providing them with a first-hand experience of the campus. Senior students also shared their personal college experiences, adding a relatable touch for prospective applicants.
Earlier, Senior Assistant Professor Konchok Chorol, who serves as the In-Charge Principal, delivered a detailed presentation on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. She emphasized the importance of utilizing the higher education opportunities now available in UT Ladakh and encouraged students to enroll in the college without delay.
The college admission committee plans to hold a similar drive at GHSS Skurbuchan on December 12, 2024. The initiative has been well-received, sparking interest among students and promising an increase in enrollments for the upcoming academic session.
