First JKBOSE sub-level office building inaugurated in Leh
The first sub-level office of J&K BOSE was inaugurated by J&K Farooq Khan, Advisor to Governor on September 28 in Leh.
Farooq Khan,chief guest congratulated the residents of Leh district, Education Department and JK BOSE for having the new office building. He informed that BOSE will continue to function similarly in UT Ladakh for both Leh and Kargil for next one and a half year until issues are addressed with a permanent settlement. He said that the education sector performs well if it is handled by local elected representatives. He gave full assurance to address all the pending issues highlighted by Hill Council, Leh by 31st October.
He further appreciated the efforts of Chairperson JK BOSE and her team for constructing the building with their office fund without seeking any financial assistance from outside. He also praised RDD, Leh for constructing the building with extra things within the low-cost original amount fulfilling its practical requirements.
Gyal P Wangyal, CEC stressed on proper utilization of the building with filling up of vacant posts at sub-office level in Leh. He also requested the Advisor to extend the examination month for board exams from October to March and to regularize the posts of Principals, fill up the vacant posts of Principals and lecturers, upgrade the Chuchot Government High School to Higher Secondary School which has a maximum enrolment of specially-abled children and to transfer funding from 4202 to 8848 before 31 October.
He appreciated the efforts of Tashi Tundup in bring JK BOSE to this level and dedicatedly working for the welfare of the students all the time.
Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, MP, Ladakh asserted that education is the foundation for any kind of development and since the time of Kushok Bakula Rinpoche all the leaders have given top priority to improve the education sector. He expressed hope that under the guidance of Farooq Khan deserving recommendations will be made to further improve and strengthen the education sector in UT Ladakh.
Veena Pandita, Chairman JK BOSE spoke about the structural and functional aspect of JK BOSE in J&K State and other activities they conduct under MHRD and district level roles and responsibility. She also highlighted the facilities and benefit provided to the students in far-flung and remote regions in school education.
Abdul Wahid Maqdumi, Joint Secretary JKBOSE said that the new building incorporates innovation and technology and the students will be facilitated with IT services in this office to help them with online documentation.
A cultural programme was also presented by students of Boys Higher Secondary School, Leh on the occasion.
