Fire and Fury Corps organises veterans outreach programme in Leh
The Leh Sub Area, under the aegis of the Fire and Fury Corps, organized a Veterans Outreach Programme on July 18 at Rinchen Auditorium. The event was attended by around 200 veterans and Veer Naris from Leh, including Director Rajya Sainik Board, Colonel Lobzang Neema (Retd), and President of the Ex-Servicemen League, UT Ladakh.
The programme aimed to educate the veterans on the latest policies and initiatives undertaken as part of various welfare schemes by different agencies. During the event, 14 Veer Naris, Veer Matas, and Veer Pitas were felicitated by the General Officer Commanding of Leh Sub Area at Rinchen Auditorium to honor their sacrifice for the nation.
The General Officer Commanding also distributed amenity stores to six Ex-Servicemen Societies, including the War Heroes Colony of Leh and Ex-Servicemen Societies of Upper Leh, Mangue, Gya, Thiksay, and Lalok.
In his address, the General Officer Commanding thanked the veterans and Veer Naris, Veer Matas, and Veer Pitas for their sacrifice for the nation and assured them of wholehearted support from the Indian Army in ensuring the development and well-being of their families. The veterans expressed their gratitude to the Leh Sub Area and the Indian Army for the support and assistance rendered to them.
