Election officials start voters' awareness plan in remote areas
The District Election Officer Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve and District SVEEP Nodal Officer, Tajamul Ara led a successful SVEEP(Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) awareness camp in the remote areas of Trans Singey La on April 19 and 20.
The camp aimed to enhance voter awareness and ensure greater participation ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The awareness campaign covered villages including Lingshed, Youlchung, Nerak, Photoksar, Wanla, and Hanupata in the Leh district. The camp saw active participation from local communities.
The events focussed on empowering citizens with knowledge about their rights and responsibilities in the electoral process.
Moreover, the District Election Officer undertook a thorough review of the arrangements at the polling stations in the aforementioned areas.
The review ensured that all necessary infrastructure and facilities were in place to facilitate smooth and hassle-free voting for the residents during the elections.
