EC, Rural Development Department, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee reviewed the progress of different works under Capex Budget 2020-21, SDP, MGNREGA, CD Normal, Development of Panchayat, BADP, RURBAN, Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awaas Yojana (PMGAY), and Project Tsangda in the district on December 9 at Council Secretariat.

BDOs of Leh district headed by ACD, Leh Sonam Norboo were present in the meeting.

ACD Leh informed that Rural Development Department got a major jump in the allocation of funds with about 410% hike as ₹ 24 crore was approved including ₹ 16.69 crore in CD Normal and ₹ 7.30 crore under Development of Panchayat this year as compared to last year fund which is ₹6 crore.

While taking detailed progress reports from ACD, Leh, and concerned BDO’s about the status and progress of work, EC Tashi Namgyal observed that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown in the district during the past working season the targets of works could not be achieved fully. 

He directed ACD, Leh, and BDOs to ensure completion of all papers works including tendering procedures during the winter months so that all works could be started timely in the next working season. Also, he asked ACD to expedite works that could be completed during the winter months.
