EC Tashi inspects progress of mini hydel project at Raru Zanskar
Executive Councilor, RD&PRD, LAHDC, Kargil, Er Punchok Tashi inspected the ongoing progress and development of the 2x1000 KW Mini Hydel Project at Raru Zanskar being executed by Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA).
The project was sanctioned under the Ladakh Renewable Energy Initiative (LREI), GoI in year 2010-11 but was delayed due to the non-availability of timely funds.
EC Tashi was briefed by the Engineer of KREDA that almost 90 percent of the work stands executed at the site and the fixing of the electro-mechanical part is in progress.
It was also assured that one unit (1 MW) machine shall be put to run as a trial in the next 2 weeks and they will endeavor to complete the project by the end of November if weather permits.
He directed the team of technical staff and engineers to speed up the work so that the same could start producing power supply for Zanskar. Tsering Norbu, I/C SDM Zanskar, and Engineer of KREDA Kargil were present during the inspection.
