Executive Councilor for ZDA, RDD, Cooperative, and Information, LAHDC Kargil, Er Punchok Tashi, conducted a visit to the Zanskar Sumdo Shingkula sector on July 9.

Accompanying him were Councilor for Cha Constituency, Stanzin Lakpa; SDM Zanskar, Romil Singh Donk; Tehsildar Zanskar, Mohd Hassan; SHO Zanskar, Inspector Stanzin Gyaltsen, and engineers from ZDA, R&B, and REW Zanskar.

The visit aimed to assess the unresolved border issues between UT Ladakh and the Himachal Pradesh Government.

On June 27, Lahoul Administration also visited Shingkula under the leadership of MLA L&S.

Finding an amicable solution to these disputes is crucial for ensuring peace and dignity for the people of both districts, and the matter will be taken up with both governments.

Lambardar Kargyak accompanied the officials. On their return to Padum, developmental projects in Kargyak and surrounding areas were inspected thoroughly.

The team also visited High School Thangsoo, where EC Tashi interacted with staff and students. The headmaster raised concerns about filling vacant teaching and non-teaching staff positions and improving infrastructure to CBSE standards.

Villagers of Thangsoo highlighted issues including medical facilities, drinking water, irrigation canals, a steel bridge, and other basic amenities. They submitted a memorandum of demands to the EC, who assured timely resolution of these issues.
