An injured labour of 1445 BCC (GREF), Konchok Namdol received a compensation of ₹3, 84,280 under Employee’s Compensation Act 1923 on January 18.

The compensation amount has been deposited by Officer Commanding, 1445 BCC (GREF) and handed over by Tsering Sandup, Deputy Chairman Hill Council, Leh. Konchok Stanzin, EC Education and Ghulam Nabi Tak, Assistant Commissioner Labour, Leh were also present.

Konchok Namdol a resident of Lukung village was a paid labour of 1445 BCC (GREF) and registered on muster roll of the unit. On April 4, 2019, during his deployment at Dett Pagal Nallah bridge site at Tangtse -Lukung road the rock breaker machine failed mechanically and injured his right leg severely.
