Drugs and climate awareness campaign held in Zanskar
A Drugs and Climate awareness campaign was organised by the Young Drukpa Association in collaboration with the District Administration Zanskar, Choskal Tsogspa, and the UT Administration of Ladakh on July 27.
The campaign was led by His Eminence Thuksay Rinpochey, who undertook a five-day Pad Yatra across various parts of Zanskar with nearly 300 followers to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of environmental conservation.
On behalf of the District Administration, Superintendent of Police Zanskar Rigzin Sungdup, Zonal Education Officer Tsewang Yangdol, and Administrative Officer to the Deputy Commissioner, Stanzin Khewang, extended a warm welcome to His Eminence.
A major awareness programme was held at the Tourist Dak Bungalow in Padum, drawing a large gathering of local residents, students, and followers of Rinpochey.
Addressing the gathering, His Eminence Thuksay Rinpochey urged the youth to stay away from drugs and stressed the importance of protecting the environment to ensure a healthy and secure future. He called upon the community to work collectively towards building a drug-free and environmentally conscious society.
