Dr. Pawan Kotwal, chaired a meeting to review preparations for the 78th Independence Day celebrations, 2024, either in person or virtually.

The main events will be held at Polo Ground in Leh and Khree Sultan Cho Stadium in Kargil. Dr. Kotwal emphasized the need for a grand celebration and instructed that Raj Niwas, all government buildings, and Ladakh Bhawans be illuminated. He also directed that iconic sites like Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa, as well as streets, be decorated with flags and lights.

The Advisor called for thorough arrangements for parking, seating, drinking water, sanitation, and health services, with special attention to refreshments for participants, including school children and women.

Dr. Kotwal underscored the importance of promoting Ladakh’s local products, such as Lilium flowers and locally made mementos, and showcasing Ladakhi culture. He directed all officials to ensure a smooth and hassle-free conduct of the Independence Day events across the Union Territory.
