DM, Kargil, issues orders for establishment of additional quarantine centres District authorities seal 2 hardware, 1 carpentry shop for violating rules
To ensure adequate quarantine facilities to deal with suspected cases of COVID-19 in the district as per the mandated protocol and SOPs, Baseer ul Haq Choudhary,District Magistrate,Kargil today on March 23 issued an order for the establishment of additional Quarantine Centers if required.
According to the order, the Assistant Director Tourism Kargil has been directed to immediately keep 14 hotels/resorts functional to establish the additional quarantine facilities.
DM has also directed the officers concerned to ensure adequate arrangements in these additional quarantine centers as per the SOPs prescribed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of India.
Meanwhile, the District authorities today sealed 2 hardware and 1 carpentry shop in Kargil town for violating the orders under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and other relevant sections of Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
The authorities have reiterated the appeal to the general public to cooperate with the Administration in this situation to contain the spread of COVID-19 and further said that strict action under relevant sections of IPC would be taken against people violating rules and those putting others life at risk.
