DLSA Leh, Social welfare Dept organises legal awareness programme on Domestic Violence Act Various provisions and schemes regarding Domestic Violence Act were discussed by the experts
District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Leh, in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department, organised a legal awareness programme on Domestic Violence Act in Skalzangling on October 29.
Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Zarina Bano spoke on various schemes under the Social Welfare Department and Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS). While speaking on gender equality in Ladakh, Zarina urged women to come forward to fight for their rights.
Secretary, DLSA Leh, Phuntsog Angmo spoke on various provisions to seek legal help and the process to avail of the benefits. She highlighted women-related laws, especially the cases prevalent in courts of UT Ladakh.
Advocate Kunzang Chorol discussed the various provisions of the Domestic Violence Act.
Ward Member, Skalzangling appreciated DLSA Leh for organising the camp and asserted public to seek legal help for redressing their grievances.
Supervisors and Anganwadi workers of ICDS, Municipal ward members, nambardar and members of Skalzangling, PLVs, staff members, and the public participated.
