DLSA Leh reaches out to PAGIR to promote inclusive legal awareness

Wangial Tsering, Sub-Judge and Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Leh, paid an official visit to PAGIR, Leh, on February 7 as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen access to justice and promote legal awareness at the grassroots level.

The visit was attended by Kunzang Dolma, Founder of PAGIR; Padma Stanzin, President of PAGIR; Advocate Nema Stanzin, Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel (LADC); members of PAGIR, including persons with disabilities; along with officials and staff of the District Legal Services Authority.

During the visit, Wangial Tsering interacted with PAGIR members and appreciated their efforts towards inclusion, empowerment, and community engagement. The members showcased various handmade items prepared by them, reflecting their skills, creativity, and spirit of self-reliance.

The Secretary highlighted the role of the District Legal Services Authority in providing free legal services and emphasized the importance of legal awareness, particularly for vulnerable and marginalized sections of society. He assured continued support and cooperation from DLSA in addressing the legal issues faced by the members.

The visit reaffirmed the commitment of DLSA Leh to work in collaboration with community-based organizations like PAGIR to strengthen inclusive justice delivery and enhance legal outreach initiatives.
