DLSA Leh observes Gandhi Jayanti with cleanliness drive under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Leh, observed Gandhi Jayanti by organising a cleanliness drive at the District Court Complex, Melongthang, Leh, and its surrounding areas as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

The cleanliness drive was led by Wangial Tsering, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Leh. Tsering Phuntsog, Deputy Director Prosecution; Jigmet Phuntsog, Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP); court staff; personnel from the prosecution wing; Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs); and staff members of the Municipal Committee Leh actively participated in the drive.

During the drive, the collected waste was segregated into dry and wet waste. Participants were sensitised to the principles of “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle,” the use of eco-friendly alternatives to single-use plastics, and zero-waste management practices.

Emphasis was also placed on maintaining cleanliness in public toilets within the court complex to ensure better hygiene and convenience for staff, advocates and visiting litigants.

DLSA Leh distributed masks, gloves and refreshments to all participants. The participants also took the Swachhata Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining cleanliness and contributing towards a cleaner nation.
