District Legal Services Authority Kargil organised an awareness program on "POCSO Act" at Mutahhary Public School Baroo on August 21.

The program was attended by Murtaza Khalili principal, teaching and non-teaching staff of Mutahhary Public School members, staff members of DLSA Kargil, PLVS of the front office and 200 students

Briefing about POCSO Act, Adv. Nissar Hussain said that POCSO means protection of children from sexual offences adding the Act protects children from offences of sexual assault, sexual harassment and provide for the establishment of special court for trial of such offence and matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

It also reduces the ambiguity and vagueness around the definition of a child, and it identifies a child as an individual less than 18 years of age.

Murtaza Khalili, Principal Mutahhary Public School Baroo, thanked DLSA Kargil for organising such a fruitful programme in their institution.
