District Legal Services Authority organises awareness programme on Motor Vehicles Act and Rules
The District Legal Services Authority organised an awareness programme on the Motor Vehicles Act and Rules at the Taxi Union office on April 23.
Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel, Nema Stanzin, delivered a lecture on the functioning of DLSA, eligibility under Section 12, and the Motor Accident Claim Act. Assistant Legal Aid Defence Counsel, Phuntsog Stobgyal, addressed the topic of the Motor Vehicle Act 1988 and compulsory insurance.
Inspector of Traffic Police, Leh, Parveez Ahmad informed about road safety awareness, while Sub Inspector Phunchok Dorjey gave instructions on vehicle documentation.
President of the Taxi Union, Thinlay Namgail, addressed the challenges faced by the taxi union.
Approximately 150 participants were present at the event.
The event was attended by PLVs, Sub Inspector, Mohd Ali, Vice President and Secretary of the Taxi Union, all Executive members, Taxi owners and drivers.
