The District Election Office, Leh organized a one-day training session for the  district level master trainers on EVMs/ VVPATs, polling party and poll day management in preparation for the upcoming general election to Lok Sabha, 2024 at DC conference hall on March 5.

Dr. Stanzin Rabgais, the State Level Master Trainer (SLMT), said that the training aims to equip the DLMTs with their skills to train other polling officials and to conduct a free and fair election successfully. 

He gave a detailed presentation on the roles and responsibilities of presiding officers, 1st polling officer, 2nd polling officer and 3rd polling officer on the polling station, poll day activities, mock poll, sealing of control units and VVPATs. 

Besides, register of voters, voting procedure, voter verification, handling special situations during elections, poll closure and transportation were discussed. 

The training session was attended by a total of 16 DLMTs from tehsils including Diskit, Sumoor, Nyoma, Durbuk, Kharu, Leh, Saspol, Khaltsi and officials from election office.
