A one-day community-based disaster awareness cum training programme was held to sensitize the volunteers about various aspects of disaster preparedness on March 17 at Chiktan Shagaran, Kargil.

 

The awareness programme was organized by District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Kargil.

Representatives of SDRF, Red Cross and Fire and Emergency Services imparted training on various aspects of search and rescue methods, first aid, basic firefighting techniques and other ways to deal with different kind of disasters.

 

Kacho Asgar Ali, Tehsildar, Shakar Chiktan, Iftikhar Hussain, Inspector, In charge SDRF, Akbar Ali, In Charge Fire and Emergency Services, Ahmad Ali, in-Charge Red Cross, officers of the Sub Divisional Administration, DDMA, SDRF, Red Cross and Fire Services, Nambardars and large number of people attended the day-long training programme.
