District administration and Youth action committee collaborate for anti-corruption awareness in Kargil

In observance of International Anti-Corruption Day, the District Administration Kargil, in collaboration with the Youth Action Committee Kargil, organized a one-day conference themed “Uniting with Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow's Integrity”. The event aimed to underscore the pivotal role of youth in combating corruption and fostering integrity.

Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, presided as the chief guest, while SSP Kargil, Shree Raam R, served as the guest of honor. The event saw participation from District Chief Vigilance Officer and Additional Deputy Commissioner Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani, district officers, educators, students from various institutions, members of the Youth Action Committee, and other stakeholders.

Speaking at the event, DC Kargil Shrikant Balasaheb Suse emphasized the collective responsibility to eradicate corruption and urged all stakeholders to engage in self-introspection and uphold justice and transparency in their actions. He highlighted the administration's commitment to addressing complaints based on merit and underscored the crucial role of youth in promoting transparency and accountability in governance.

SSP Kargil Shree Raam R discussed key anti-corruption legislations, including the RTI Act 2005, Prevention of Corruption Act 1988, and Lokpal Act 2013. He elaborated on the police’s role in ensuring accountability and maintaining transparency within the system.

District Chief Vigilance Officer and ADC Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani reiterated the significance of International Anti-Corruption Day, emphasizing collective honesty and the importance of youth-led efforts in fostering a corruption-free society.

President of the Youth Action Committee, Shabir Hussain, shed light on the objectives of the event and the committee's active role in promoting anti-corruption awareness in Kargil.

An inter-school speech competition was held during the conference, with winners receiving awards from the chief guest.
