Block Medical Officer of Community Health Center, Sankoo organised a medical camp for deworming to improve children’s health on October 12 at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Khumbathang, Kargil.

Dr. Nasreen Fatima, Gynecologist, CHC Sankoo said that deworming is a safe, cost-effective intervention for breaking the worm cycle. The camp will help to reduce absenteeism in schools, improve learning outcomes for children later in life.

She further stressed behavioral change practices in terms of cleanliness, hygiene, use of toilets, wearing shoes, chappals, washing hands, etc. which is also important to reduce the incidence of infection. 

A total of 112 Students of Class 10th & 12th were de-wormed during the camp.
