Deputy Chairman, Hill Council, Leh inspects SNM Hospital
Deputy Chairman Hill Council, Leh Tsering Sandup inspected SNM Hospital Leh and enquired about the functioning of ICU, OPD, Emergency, and other important wards including Gynae and operation theatre on June 4.
Medical Superintendent, Dr. Tsering Samphel informed that there is no shortage of doctors and paramedic staff in handling and curing COVID -19 patients in the district. The COVID-19 dedicated hospital, Mahabodhi Karuna Charitable Hospital, Choglamsar is running smoothly, as usual, he added.
A total of 14 doctors of SNM Hospital went under home quarantine after they came in contact with family members of a deceased patient who was tested COVID-19 positive.
Dr. Tsering Samphel informed that there are enough doctors available in Leh hospital to manage OPD and Emergency wards. He said that the sample of all the 14 doctors of SNM Hospital will be collected tomorrow evening for the COVID-19 test and if found negative they will resume their duty by the next day.
Deputy Chairman inspected the Dialysis Unit of the hospital where patients are being provided dialysis treatment through four dialysis machines these days.
Dr. Samphel said that there are two spaces available with RO pipe connection for the installation of two more dialysis machines.
Dy. Chairman directed Dr. Samphel to provide a detailed estimate of the dialysis machine, DG set backup, and spare parts of all the important machines required in the Dialysis Unit.
