Delegation of All Changthang Pashmina Growers Cooperative Marketing Society meets L-G Mathur
A delegation led by Konchok Stanzin, EC, Animal and Sheep Husbandry along with Chairman and Secretary of All Changthang Pashmina Growers Cooperative Marketing Society (ACPGCMS), Leh met Lieutenant Governor, R K Mathur on July 20 at Raj Niwas.
A copy of memorandum demanding early procurement of new dehairing machine and to augment the revolving fund for the purchase of raw Pashmina by All Changthang Pashmina Growers Co-operative Marketing Society was submitted. Also, they requested to review and implement the sanctioned Changthang Development Project and informed that the proposal stands submitted to Union Government through erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state.
Konchok Stanzin said that the Changthang Development Project is of utmost significance to preserve the traditional livestock rearing system and to benefit the nomads living near the border areas in Changthang and avoid their migration towards the city.
Lt. Governor assured to look into the matter.
