DC Sham chairs meeting on observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2026
Deputy Commissioner, Sham, Kunzes Angmo, JKAS, chaired a meeting on October 7 to review preparations for the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Sham.
Vigilance Awareness Week will be observed across the country from October 26 to November 1 on the theme “Probity for Prosperity.”
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the preparedness of concerned departments for conducting various awareness and outreach activities during the week. She directed all departments and organisations to ensure active participation and organise meaningful programmes aimed at promoting transparency, integrity and accountability in public life, while strengthening collective efforts to combat corruption.
The meeting also discussed the observance of the Integrity Pledge, which will commence on October 26, 2026. Departments and organisations were directed to encourage their employees, families, stakeholders and the general public to participate in the e-Integrity Pledge.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasised the need to organise workshops, awareness campaigns and other outreach activities focusing on vigilance, integrity and preventive measures against corruption. Activities may include Awareness Gram Sabhas, street plays, marathons and social media campaigns to ensure wider public participation.
She also stressed the importance of preventive vigilance measures, including the timely disposal of pending complaints and cases, capacity-building programmes, digital initiatives and effective contract management.
The concerned officers were directed to ensure timely submission of reports, photographs and media clips of activities conducted during Vigilance Awareness Week as per the prescribed guidelines.
The meeting was attended by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Khaltse; Executive Engineer, R&B Sham; Block Development Officer, Khaltsi; Principal, Government Higher Secondary School, Khaltsi; Station House Officer, Khaltsi; Livestock Development Officer, Khaltsi; Assistant Vigilance Officer, Khaltsi; Assistant Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Khaltsi; Assistant Accounts Officer, Finance Department, among other concerned officers.
