DC reviews hospital infrastructure, directs priority completion of casualty section

Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, on October 9 visited the additional building of Qamar Ali Akhoon Memorial (QAAM) District Hospital, Kargil, to review the progress of ongoing works and assess the facilities being developed.

The DC was accompanied by the Executive Engineer, PWD; Executive Engineer, Mechanical; Medical Superintendent of QAAM District Hospital; and doctors.

During the visit, the DC inspected various sections of the building and reviewed the status of pending works and the availability of essential facilities.

He directed the concerned departments to complete the Casualty section on priority and make it functional at the earliest. He also instructed the installation of adequate heating systems in the building in view of the approaching winter season.

The DC stressed the need to complete all remaining works at the earliest through proper coordination among the concerned departments. He also issued directions regarding maintenance and infrastructure-related works and asked the officers to address all pending requirements promptly.

Rakesh Kumar emphasised that the additional hospital building should be made fully functional at the earliest to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and improve medical services for the people of Kargil.
