DC Nubra reviews functioning of school education department
Deputy Commissioner, Nubra, Mukul Beniwal, IAS, convened a review meeting with the Department of School Education on August 28 to assess the overall functioning and progress of educational institutions across the district.
During the meeting, ZEO Nubra Sonam Dolkar briefed the Deputy Commissioner on staff strength, student enrolment, the functioning and enrolment of residential hostels, co-curricular activities, public library facilities, ongoing construction works and future plans of the Department.
She also apprised the DC of major schemes and programmes, including Samagra Shiksha, PM POSHAN and the NIPUN Bharat Mission, along with the grants and facilities provided under these initiatives, such as ICT labs, transport facilities, free uniforms and teachers engaged under Samagra Shiksha.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for focused and outcome-oriented implementation of the NIPUN Bharat Mission. He directed the concerned officials to identify learning gaps, undertake targeted interventions and periodically assess progress against established baselines.
He also enquired about the proper disbursement and utilisation of funds under the Samagra Shiksha scheme and directed officials to ensure that all relevant records are properly maintained.
Emphasising the importance of environmental preparedness and disaster management, the DC directed schools to conduct regular disaster management mock drills. He suggested that these activities could also be incorporated under the Eco Clubs programme to promote awareness and preparedness among students.
The DC further directed that a committee be constituted to organise monthly grievance redressal camps covering schools across all three blocks of Nubra district, ensuring that concerns of students, teachers and other stakeholders are addressed in a timely manner.
The meeting was attended by the Zonal Education Officer, Nubra, and other concerned officials of the Department of School Education.
