DC Leh discusses strategies for prevention of Lumpy Skin Disease No case has been reported within the district to date
Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse chaired a meeting with Concerned officers on August 28 and discussed the strategies for the prevention of Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) in the Leh district.
Several preventive measures were discussed in detail in the meeting to prevent the outbreak of LSD in the district. To date Ladakh is free from Lumpy Skin Disease and not a single case has been reported within the district.
DC Leh directed the concerned departments to organise awareness camps about the preventive measures of LSD at farm camps, rural areas, and dairy belts of the district where cattle are raised in large numbers. He further instructed the Information Department to issue advisories of the departments on social media platforms as well on local radio and television.
The police department and other departments were instructed to ensure restrictions on the movement and transportation of cattle from outside of the district.
