DC Leh chairs meeting on PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana implementation

Deputy Commissioner Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, led a District Level Committee (DLC) meeting on the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana on September 11 at the mini conference hall, DC office Leh.
The Power Development Department reported 275 applications submitted on the national portal for the scheme. Of these, 29 projects have been commissioned, and inspections for 15 are ongoing. Additionally, 10 vendors have registered on the national portal from UT Ladakh.
DC Leh directed the Power Development Department to identify high electricity consumers through recorded data and encourage them to utilize the scheme. He also recommended setting up a meeting with registered vendors to increase outreach.
The UT Ladakh Administration has approved a top-up subsidy of ₹20,000 per KWp for the first 2 KWp of rooftop solar capacity, and ₹10,000 per KWp for additional capacity up to 3 KWp. No subsidy is available for capacity beyond 3 KWp from either the central or UT government. Several public and private sector banks are offering loans at competitive interest rates to support consumers in accessing this scheme. The meeting was attended by officials from various departments and banks.
