DC Leh chairs meeting on land acquisition for Leh bypass road
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Leh, Santosh Sukhdeve, chaired a meeting to review the land acquisition process for the proposed Leh Bypass Road, a key infrastructure project aimed at enhancing connectivity in the region.
Consultancy M/S Yuksel presented a detailed plan outlining the alignment of the bypass road, including its technical specifications, proposed route, and expected benefits. The discussion also covered the modalities of land acquisition under the National Highway framework.
DC Sukhdeve emphasized the significance of the bypass road in easing traffic congestion and improving connectivity for vehicles traveling to and from Leh towards Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. He stressed the need for expediting the land acquisition process to ensure timely implementation of the project.
The DC directed all stakeholders to work in close coordination to resolve challenges and streamline the process. He highlighted the project's potential to enhance transportation efficiency, stimulate local economic growth, and benefit both residents and visitors.
The meeting concluded with a call for swift and collaborative efforts to achieve the project's early completion.
Key officials present at the meeting included SDM Kharu, Tehsildar Leh, Officer Commanding 111 RCC (GREF, Project Himank), and Naib Tehsildar Chuchot.
