DC Leh approves 30 cases under state marriage assistance scheme
Deputy Commissioner Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, approved 30 verified cases under the State Marriage Assistance Scheme during a meeting held on December 9 in the VC Room of the DC Office, Leh.
District Social Welfare Officer, Inzaar Rana, provided an overview of the scheme's progress, including the number of applications received post-Union Territory status, the applications submitted this year, verified cases, and the current guidelines. He highlighted the lack of a standardized Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for verifying cases under the scheme.
DC Leh instructed officials to complete the verification process for the remaining cases promptly. He directed the District Social Welfare Officer to send a letter to the Secretary to expedite the release of funds for old pending cases. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of creating a proper SOP to streamline the identification and verification process under the scheme.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ghulam Mohd., District Programme Officer ICDS A.G. Zargar, District Social Welfare Officer Inzaar Rana, President Mahila Mandal Leh Sarla Chhewang, and other officials.
